If you're running Windows 10 or 11, try working backwards until you find a version that works. Go to "Compatibility" and change the Compatibility mode to run the program in an older version of Windows. If the game still doesn't work after installing as an admin, try left-clicking the Game.exe file and clicking "Properties". Installing the DirectX End-User Runtime has a bunch of the legacy versions that will ensure your games work with just the one DirectX download/install.
The version included with these games is outdated anyway.
You can install DirectX yourself from the microsoft website if you don't already have it. Allow permissions and then continue the install as normal.
Ensure you install all games as an admin: left-click the setup.exe file and navigate to "Run as administrator". (Except MID, which I bought, and SCK, which I only played the Remastered version of.) These installs can be a little confusing if you aren't used to them, so here's a few quick tips and tricks if you're having issues:
